Summer Camp 2024

The Strong Museum Summer Camp offers unique museum-based learning experiences that will spark the imagination and allow campers to learn and discover through play and exploration. Each week campers will be provided with one-of-a-kind learning opportunities engaging with different museum professionals and exhibits along with teacher-led classroom time to further investigate and expand on these themes.

One Week Summer Camp Registration (children entering grades 1 through 3)

Non-members: $295.00 per week
Members: $265.50 per week

Summer Camp times are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Drop off between 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
After care available from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m for an additional $30.00

Weekly Session Options:

Week One: Designers & Explorers (7/8‒7/12)
Spend the week exploring museum exhibits. Choose whether you want to craft a fairy tale setting, write scripts for superhero adventures, or develop a comic book hero, with help from a local animator or museum exhibit designer.

Week Two: STEAM Week (7/15‒7/19)
Join us for a week of slime, kinetic sand, LEGOs, and more. Investigate the math, science, and technology behind these popular toys in the museum’s Play Lab. Learn about tools and building techniques from a LEGO engineer, exhibit designer, or a member of the museum’s conservation team.

Week Three: It’s Alive! (7/22‒7/26)
Explore the museum’s live collections including a python, tarantula, button quail, and tortoise. Chat with museum experts and learn new skills like how to identify various butterflies and species of fish. Learn tips for caring for these animals in your environment.

Week Four: Game On! (7/29‒8/2)
Try your hand at games that have been inducted into the World Video Game Hall of Fame and the National Toy Hall of Fame. Discover new games in Digital Worlds: Level Up and High Score and eGameRevolution, then collaborate with other campers to develop a game of your own. Meet and ask questions with a digital games curator.

Registration is for 1 week at a time starting on the date you selected. To add other weekly sessions, after adding to your cart, go back and make another selection.

Cancellation Policy
A 75% refund minus a $30 administrative fee will be issued if a cancellation request is received via email by 4:00 p.m. ET on Friday, May 31, 2024. Cancellations received after this date and time are not eligible for a refund.

The Strong Museum Summer Camp does not prorate for any absence from camp, including illness or changes due to work or vacation schedules.

Upon request by a guardian, we may allow a camper to switch to a different camp session, either in the same week or an alternate week, depending on availability and at our discretion.

The Strong Museum Summer Camp reserves the right to cancel a camp at its discretion for any reason, including but not limited to COVID-19 or insufficient enrollment. We will make every effort to provide registered families with as much notice as possible of any such cancellation. If a program is canceled, families will be notified, and a full refund will be provided.
